Compressed Air Systems

compressed air systems

The Compressed Air System has following major component equipment :

• AIR COMPRESSOR :

For most applications, a Screw Compressor of required pressure rating is used. Reciprocating compressors are used whenever oil-free air is specified or where higher pressures are required.

• AFTER COOLER WITH MOISTURE SEPARATOR :

The Aftercooler is a shell & tube type where compressed air is cooled by plant cooling water. The liquids which condensed due to cooling are separated by the in- built Moisture Separator. Draining can be done manually or by auto drain valve.

Air Reciver

• AIR RECEIVER :

Properly engineered & sized to take into account fluctuating air demand of the User devices. Designed & manufactured under applicable fabrication codes and provision made for mounting safety & control devices. Draining of Receiver can be done manually or by auto drain valve.

• COMPRESSED AIR FILTERS :

Contaminants in the form of dust, rust, oil and water in solid, fine liquid, aerosols and vapour forms present in the compressed air have to be removed to make it oil and moisture –free and suitable for various application.

The Prefilter removes solids & fine liquids, the Oil Removal Filter removes aerosols and oil vapour and the After filter removes any carried forward solid/liquid contaminants. Filtering media are in Porous Plastic, Ceramic Candle, Activated Carbon, Borosilicate Microfibre, etc as per requirements.

• AIR DRYERS :

Water (moisture) in vapour form present in the compressed air cannot be removed by the Moisture Separator and Filters. It can be removed by two methods – by cooling the air further to lower temperatures by using cooling media such as refrigerant ( Refrigeration Air dryer) or chilled water/ brine (Compressed Air Chiller Dryer). These Dryers can achieve moderate dryness of upto 600 ppm ( moisture equivalent to ADP of -20ºC). For better dryness, a Heatless Air Dryer can be used which can give dryness upto 80 ppm (ADP of -40ºC), which is accepted as instrument air quality. These two types of Air Dryers cover virtually all industrial applications. Special Air Dryers can also be designed for achieving moisture content below 80 ppm.

The compressed air from our Compressed Air System is dry and moisture-free and can meet the required ISO-8573-1 standards.

  Auto Drain Valves
• AUTO DRAIN VALVES :

These valves help maintenance managers to ensure that  all equipment of the Compressed Air System get drained regularly without manual dependence, except for periodic checks. Low cost timer based Auto Drain Valves are commonly used , but higher cost options of level based ADVs are also available.
