HEATLESS AIR DRYER

  HOW IT WORKS

The contaminated compressed air is made to pass thru Prefilter PF (for removal of solids & liquids) and Oil Removal Filter ORF (for removal of oil vapour) before entering Tower A1 thru a 3-way valve where it is dried by the adsorbent. Dry air exits the Dryer thru the After filter AF (where fine particles, if any are trapped) for use. A part (10 - 15%) of the dry air is expanded in the Purge Control Valve (PCV), passed thru Tower A2 to regenerate the adsorbent and exhausted out of its Purge Exhaust Valve (PEV) thru a Silencer (S).

Prior to reversal of functions of Towers A1 & A2, PEV of Tower A2 is closed and its pressure slowly rises and equalizes with pressure of Tower A 1. The reversal is then effected and Tower A2 comes under adsorption & Tower A1 is under regeneration. This cyclic operation is then repeated continuously & automatically thru a sequential control timer.

FEATURES

AIR DRYER

Regenerative Air Dryers have two adsorption towers, where the compressed air is dried in one tower, while the adsorbent in the other tower is simultaneously regenerated by using part of the dry air. The towers are used alternatively to give continuous flow of dry air. Dew point of -40' C is standard, but Dryers with lower dew points can also be supplied. Different types such as Heatless, Heated, Heat of Compression, etc. are available to suit various requirements. Please send details of existing Compressed Air System (if any) and dry air applications so that we can recom01end the right type of Dryer.

SERVICES

REVAMPING OF AIR DRYERS

Revamping means bringing to life any equipment, which is not being used due to a variety of reasons. An Air Dryer is generally taken of out of service due to mechanical malfunctioning (e.g. valves not operating, con1rol system not working) or for not delivering dry air at rated capacity and / or dew point. Picture shows an Air Dryer being repainted after revamping & testing.

Revamping of an Air Dryer involves some or all of the following operations:

  • Cleaning & testing of Adsorption Towers, Filters, Piping, etc.
  • Cleaning / repairing / replacing including pressure & operational testing of each valve individually.
  • Repairing / replacing & testing of Tower & other control elements such as pressure gauge, safety valve, etc.
  • Reassembly & pressure testing of Dryer as well as operational testing of valves & control system.
  • Replacement of Adsorbents (Activated Alumina / Molecular Sieves / Activated Carbon / Silica Gel), Filter Elements, etc. as required and final pressure testing before dispatch.

SPANTECH ENGINEERS undertakes revamping of Air Dryers & PSA Nitrogen Generators, of any make or type.

REPAIR / UP GRADATION OF OLD PSA NITROGEN GENERATORS

Repair means bringing to life any equipment which is not being used due to a variety of reasons. A Nitrogen Generator is generally taken out of service due to mechanical malfunctioning or for not delivering Nitrogen at the rated capacity and / or purity (photo shows a revamped Nitrogen Generator ready for painting). Some or all of the following has to be done to bring the Nitrogen Generator back into service.

  • Cleaning & testing of Adsorption Towers, Filters, Receivers, piping etc.
  • Cleaning, repairing, replacing & testing of valves, timer, switches, gauges and other components.
  • Reassembly & pressure testing of the Generator as well as operational testing of the valves & control system.
  • Replacement of Activated Alumina, CMS, Filter Elements, Catalyst, etc. as required and final testing & purging with Nitrogen Prior to dispatch.

Nitrogen Generators can also be upgraded to give more capacity & better purity by adding separate Air Dryer, using better adsorbent, adding Deoxo System, etc.
